Milli the Thick tail gecko is shedding her skin.

Like all reptiles Geckos will shed their old skin revealing a new clean and vibrant skin underneeth. However Geckos having no eyelids means they also have skin covering their eyes, these are called ocular scales.

What’s really interesting is they way they use their tong to lick away the old and cloudy ocular scale that covers their eye, revealing a new and clear scail that will protect their eye untill the next time they shed.

You can see Millie the clever little Gecko in a Wildlife Xposure NATIVE ANIMAL incursion.
